DARPA Grand Challenge Robot Race on PBS's NOVA

I posted a few times about the DARPA Grand Challenge Robot Race.  It was a race of robot cars that had to drive themselves across the desert. I watched on the Internet as the little dots moved slowly around a map of the course. Soon we'll be able to see it on TV, since PBS's NOVA has a special on it coming soon.  In Boston, it is on WGBH on March 28.  Program those TiVO's soon.

CNN is dead, long live the BBC

Dave has a post bemoaning the lack of news on CNN anymore.   I've felt exactly the same way.  I used to like watching CNN Headline News for a half hour, but now it is just entertainment news all evening, or that horrible Nancy Grace woman who makes me change the channel immediately.

The only remaining news is the BBC World News on BBC America at 6pm (or in the morning).  That's probably hard for Dave to get as he drives across the country, but he can get it on TiVo once he settles down somewhere for a while.
